Denmark warns motorists as heat wave fuels holiday traffic

The Danish Road Authority has cautioned drivers that the combination of unusually high temperatures and a surge in holiday traffic could lead to long queues on motorways. It advises travellers to carry ample water and snacks to stay comfortable if traffic stalls, noting that heat can make extended stops in cars especially burdensome.

In the town of Fredericia, tourists are taking advantage of the summer weather by gathering at local cafés and attractions. Visitors highlighted Café Mums for its open‑air smørrebrød, and families visited the nearby Dinos Legeland and Madsby Park, praising the town’s waterfront and street‑food scene despite the heat.
