Denmark and Norway face unseasonable warmth and wind warnings
Scandinavia is experiencing highly variable weather patterns, characterized by both unusual warmth and strong wind warnings.
In Norway, a phenomenon known as fen wind is driving temperatures to unusual levels for October, with some areas expected to exceed 20 degrees Celsius. While this brings pleasant conditions to parts of the country, the Meteorologisk institutt has issued yellow warnings for strong wind gusts in regions such as Rogaland, Hordaland, and Trøndelag. Additionally, residents in the Værnes region have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel due to potential wind gusts reaching 25 to 28 meters per second, which may cause power outages or fallen trees.
In Denmark, DMI reports a period of unseasonably mild weather, with temperatures in some areas potentially reaching 20 degrees Celsius. This late-September warmth is expected to provide a brief reprieve before more changeable and rainy conditions arrive later in the week. Bergen also recorded a significant temperature peak of 26.1 degrees Celsius on the last day of September.
