Solar eclipse approaches Denmark and Spain with safety warnings

A partial solar eclipse is expected to occur over Denmark, with approximately 84 percent of the sun being obscured by the moon. Experts from the Copenhagen Zoo note that animals may experience temporary behavioral changes due to the sudden shift in light, such as birds stopping their songs or insects becoming active earlier than usual.

In Spain, authorities have issued a recall for six models of solar eclipse glasses—Lionstar, ECP Eye Care Professional, Pelispan, Homanaje, Orro, and Opticalia—due to risks of eye damage. Consumer organizations warned that these filters may not meet safety requirements, potentially leading users to remove them while looking at the sun.

Astronomical interest is high as the event coincides with other celestial phenomena, including a planetary alignment and a meteor shower. While the eclipse in Denmark is partial, it remains a significant event for local observation.
