Denmark weather: Rain and rising sea levels forecast
Denmark is facing varied weather conditions, including significant rainfall and risks of rising sea levels. In North Jutland, up to 15 millimeters of rain are expected, while much of the country will experience cloudy skies and widespread precipitation with temperatures ranging between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius.
Authorities have issued warnings regarding elevated water levels. DMI predicts that water levels around Lolland and Falster could reach 120 centimeters above daily tides on Saturday night and into Sunday due to strong northeasterly winds. Similarly, Kolding Municipality has warned of potential flooding in Kolding Harbor, low-lying areas of the city center, and vulnerable summer house areas near Lillebælt. In response, Kolding has activated its emergency response, preparing sandbags at Binderup Strand and utilizing a new pump-sluice system and mobile flood walls to manage the surge.
