Denmark weather: High winds and rising water levels

Denmark is experiencing severe weather conditions driven by a low-pressure system named Boelo. The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has issued warnings for high winds and elevated water levels along several coastlines, including the Wadden Sea, the central West Coast, and the western part of Limfjord.

Strong winds are expected to peak during the evening, with gusts potentially reaching storm force, particularly around Blåvandshuk. The wind is pushing significant amounts of water from the North Sea toward the coasts, causing water levels to rise. In some areas, such as the Wadden Sea, water levels may briefly exceed 240 centimeters above DVR.

While the weather is expected to stabilize later in the week with more sunshine and lower wind speeds, temperatures will remain between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to secure loose objects and monitor trees with weak branches as the country enters the peak storm season, which typically runs from October to February.
