Denmark weather: Storm-force winds and heavy rain forecast

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has issued warnings for storm-force wind gusts and heavy rainfall affecting parts of Denmark. The storm warning for gale-force winds, defined by speeds between 20.8 and 24.4 meters per second, covers the municipalities of Thisted, Struer, Lemvig, Holstebro, Ringkøbing-Skjern, and Varde.

The weather event began Wednesday evening and is expected to last until Thursday morning at 09:00. In addition to high winds, intense rainfall is forecasted for West Jutland, with local amounts potentially reaching up to 25 millimeters as a weather front moves in along the west coast. Eastern Denmark is expected to see significantly less precipitation.
