Odense driver runs red light, injuring woman and halting light‑rail service

A 22‑year‑old man drove through a red signal at the intersection of Grønlykkevej, Middelfartvej and Vesterbro in Odense, colliding with a car traveling on green. The car’s driver, a 55‑year‑old woman, suffered a broken arm. A passenger fled the scene but was later located. Police arrested the driver and charged him with running a red light and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The crash prompted the temporary closure of the Odense Light Rail between Tarup Center and Odense Station. Service was suspended at 00:07 and resumed at 00:27 after the incident was cleared, with no replacement buses deployed.
