Dennis Brutu Otuaro receives vote of confidence from Akwa Ibom ex-agitators

The Akwa Ibom Ex-Agitators’ Forum has issued a vote of confidence in Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). In a letter addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the group rejected calls for Otuaro’s removal, citing his commitment to peace-building, rehabilitation, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

The forum emphasized that the PAP serves as a strategic intervention for conflict prevention rather than just a platform for monthly stipends. They argued that leadership stability is essential for addressing the socio-economic challenges that historically led to unrest in the region.

Separately, Dr. Otuaro commended High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, and Dr. Michael Anoka, Delta State Commissioner for Energy, for successfully completing their doctoral programmes. Otuaro noted that their academic achievements serve as an inspiration for youth in the Niger Delta to pursue education alongside professional responsibilities.
