Dennis Miracles Aboagye criticizes Ghana's No Fees Stress policy

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a communications director hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has claimed that no Ghanaian students have benefited from the government’s ‘No Fees Stress’ policy since its inception.

The policy was designed to alleviate the financial burden on students and parents entering tertiary institutions by providing grants directly to universities. However, Aboagye argues that the current implementation requires students to first secure funds to pay their fees and enroll before they can apply for a refund.

He noted that this arrangement fails to support students from impoverished backgrounds who lack the initial capital to enter university, potentially preventing them from accessing higher education entirely.
