Dennis Quaid reflects on acting career and life in Nashville
Actor Dennis Quaid, 72, has shared reflections on his evolving career and his move from Los Angeles to Nashville. Quaid noted that he currently possesses more enthusiasm for acting than he did in his 20s, stating, “I have more enthusiasm for what I do now than I did back in my 20s,” because he no longer feels the need to constantly strive for specific life milestones and can instead choose roles based on genuine interest.
His recent professional work includes narrating the documentary “Water Wars,” which examines a legal dispute regarding water rights in Texas. Quaid expressed that he was drawn to the project after being impressed by the story presented by director Mario Mattei and producers John Michael Simpson and Phillip Guitar.
Regarding his personal life, Quaid moved to Tennessee in 2020. He described his life in Nashville as “soft” and praised the sense of community and the space provided by the area. He contrasted this with his experience in Los Angeles, which he remarked has been “kind of going downhill” recently.
