Dennis Radtke proposes redirecting 5 billion euros from mothers' pension to tax relief
Dennis Radtke, Chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers' Association (CDA) and Member of the European Parliament, has called for the termination of the ‘Mütterrente’ (mothers' pension) program. Radtke proposes that the approximately 5 billion euros currently allocated to this initiative should be redirected toward other fiscal priorities.
Specifically, Radtke suggests using these funds to fully compensate for ‘cold progression’ in income tax and to support hardship cases following the conclusion of the ‘pension at 63’ policy. He argued that the current allocation of funds to the mothers' pension is difficult to justify, as he believes the benefits do not reach those in greatest need, whereas tax relief would provide more immediate assistance to many employees.
