Dennis Schröder Targeted by Charlotte Hornets Trade Talk and Launching ‘LGCY’ Basketball Event in Germany
The Charlotte Hornets are reported to be interested in acquiring veteran point guard Dennis Schröder after trading LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Schröder, 32, is under a three‑year, $44.4 million contract through the 2027‑28 season and could be moved to reduce Cleveland's salary cap. Charlotte hopes the German guard will add leadership and experience to its roster.
Separately, Schröder is co‑founding a new basketball‑soccer hybrid series called “LGCY” (short for “legacy”) in Germany. The inaugural event sold out Berlin’s Uber Eats Music Hall with 2,000 spectators and will be followed by a second show in Munich and a streetball game in Braunschweig. The series, organized by Philipp Dembowski and partners, aims to attract younger audiences with innovative rules and a stronger link to music and culture, featuring fellow German players Franz Wagner, Andreas Obst and Isaac Bonga.
