Dennis Schröder traded from Cleveland Cavaliers to Charlotte Hornets

Veteran point guard Dennis Schröder is being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Tre Mann and cash, according to league sources. The move marks the 12th team for the 13-year veteran.

Schröder commented on the difficulty of his role in Cleveland, noting that playing behind ball-dominant players like James Harden and Donovan Mitchell made it challenging to find a fit. During his 30 games with the Cavaliers, he averaged 8.2 points and 4.3 assists in approximately 21 minutes per game, with production dipping significantly during the Eastern Conference finals.

The trade provides Charlotte with an experienced playmaker and offers Cleveland salary cap flexibility as they pursue restricted free agent Peyton Watson. Meanwhile, James Harden is expected to re-sign with the Cavaliers after declining his player option.
