Denny's and Iida Shoten collaboration ramen sparks mixed reviews
A collaboration between the family restaurant chain Denny's and the renowned ramen shop Iida Shoten has drawn significant attention and divided opinions online. The controversy primarily centers on the ‘Spicy Miso Chashu Ramen’, priced at 2,497 yen. Popular culinary researcher Ryuji criticized the dish on social media, noting that the chashu had a ham-like texture and the noodles lacked flavor relative to the miso, suggesting that even cheaper options from other chains were superior.
However, other reviewers have offered a different perspective, distinguishing between the various items in the collaboration. While the spicy chashu version faced criticism, the ‘Miso Ramen Kai: Goju no Miso’ (priced at 1,496 yen) has received high praise from food critics and influencers like SUSURU. Reviewers highlighted the exceptional depth, aroma, and richness of the miso soup in this specific version, even if the soft-textured noodles and ham-like chashu remained points of contention for some.
This marks the sixth collaboration between Denny's and Iida Shoten, a highly acclaimed shop in Kanagawa Prefecture. While the high price point and specific textures of the ingredients have sparked debate, the partnership continues to be a major topic of discussion within the Japanese culinary community.
