A sensation of teeth feeling as if they are floating can be a significant indicator of progressing periodontal disease. Additionally, tooth discoloration can serve as a clinical sign of nerve death. In cases where a tooth turns grey or dark despite no visible history of decay, X-ray examinations may reveal shadows at the root tip, necessitating root canal treatment to remove the dead nerve and restore the tooth.
