Sleep deprivation fuels irritability and poor decision‑making, warns sleep coach

Indonesia‑based sleep educator and coach Vishal Dasani says inadequate sleep does more than cause fatigue. In a video posted on Instagram, he explained that lack of rest makes people more reactive, easily offended and defensive, describing how “small inputs feel like attacks, ordinary comments feel like criticism, and people feel the need to defend themselves.”

Dasani added that sleep loss reduces the brain’s capacity to process information calmly, increasing the likelihood of impulsive, poorly reasoned choices. He warned against making major decisions while tired, noting that emotional responses can dominate over rational evaluation.

Both articles cite the same expert and emphasize that sufficient sleep is essential for stable emotions and sound judgment.
