Dental welfare programs provide free prosthetics to seniors in Argentina and Mexico

Various social welfare initiatives in Argentina and Mexico are providing free dental prosthetics to elderly populations.

In Argentina, PAMI continues its ‘Sonrisa Mayor’ program through 2026, offering 100% coverage for dental prostheses, including total and partial dentures, dental implants, and pin placements. Affiliated retirees and pensioners can access these services at no cost for materials or professional fees by scheduling an appointment with a PAMI dentist and presenting their national identity document and affiliation credentials.

In Matamoros, Mexico, the municipal government and the DIF Matamoros system are conducting the ‘Volver a Sonreír’ campaign. This initiative has recently distributed 50 free dental prostheses to senior citizens to improve their quality of life and confidence. The program includes the full process from initial dental assessment to the final placement of the prosthetics.
