Dentist and Teacher Eloy Salinas Killed in Ciudad Victoria; Wife Detained

Eloy Cuauhtémoc Salinas Silva, a 57‑year‑old dentist and faculty member at the Escuela Normal Federal de Educadoras in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, was found dead in his home on Friday morning. Police responded to an emergency call, entered the residence on Calle 22 and Oaxaca, and paramedics confirmed he had no vital signs.

Investigators from the Fiscalía General de Justicia of Tamaulipas identified signs of possible strangulation. The victim's wife, Victoria Ixil, was arrested by the Unidad General de Investigación and is being held while the homicide case proceeds. Neighbors reported hearing a heated argument between the couple shortly before authorities arrived. The school issued a public statement expressing condolences to Salinas' family and colleagues.
