Dentist Gorban Hamid found dead in Timișoara residence

Gorban Hamid, a 61-year-old prominent dentist in Timișoara, was found dead from a gunshot wound in his residence in the Mehala district on Wednesday. The discovery was made after a patient, unable to reach the doctor by phone, noticed the doctor's phone ringing inside the house on Ioan Plavoșin Street.

Authorities, including police, gendarmes, and emergency services, entered the premises and found Hamid with severe head injuries. Investigators are currently treating the case as a potential suicide, noting that the deceased was a legal firearm owner with a passion for hunting. Reports suggest he may have left a suicide note.

While official causes are still being determined through autopsy, local sources indicate the dentist may have recently undergone a divorce and faced financial difficulties. A criminal case has been opened to investigate the circumstances of the death.
