Dentist Renata Oliveira arrested for stabbing journalist Delson Carlos in Goiânia

A dentist, Renata de Almeida Pedreira e Sousa (also reported as Renata Oliveira), was arrested after allegedly stabbing her long‑time friend, journalist Delson Carlos Henrique de Lima Barros, to death inside his apartment in the Setor Bueno district of Goiânia on the night of 24 July 2026.

Police responded to the scene after a dispute escalated, with the suspect barricading herself in a bedroom. Special‑operations forces (BOPE) used an explosive device to breach the apartment and secure the suspect. The victim's companion was injured during the incident, and a dog present in the home also suffered stab wounds.
