This crack follows the recent bypass of Denuvo in Crimson Desert, which occurred 11 days prior. While Denuvo is used by publishers like Ubisoft to delay piracy, it is often criticized by players for potentially impacting game performance. Following such cracks, some publishers have historically chosen to remove the software from their titles.

The Black Flag Resynced remake features rebuilt combat, reworked stealth and parkour mechanics, and updated naval systems. On PC, the game utilizes the Anvil engine with ray-traced features. The protection bypass affects only the PC version, leaving console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S unaffected.
