Bo Nix addresses regression and mental hurdles amid Broncos slump

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has addressed his recent performance struggles, acknowledging a mental component to his regression. During a media availability session, Nix admitted that his recovery from a fractured ankle—which required two off-season surgeries—has played a role in his current form, stating, “I’d be lying if I said no.”

While Nix maintains his physical health is fine, analysts and former coaches have noted changes in his playstyle. Former Bills head coach Sean McDermott observed a sense of “indecisiveness” in Nix, while others pointed to a significant drop in his rushing production compared to previous seasons.

Despite the individual slump, the Broncos hold a 4-2 record following a difficult early-season schedule. Head coach Sean Payton expressed confidence in Nix's ability to return to form, specifically noting the need for improved third-down efficiency and better play design to find open receivers.
