Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton mocks Falcons fans amid roster changes

During the Denver Broncos' preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Sean Payton made remarks regarding the attendance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. During a halftime interview, Payton noted, “A lot of people dressed up as empty seats today,” a comment directed at the Falcons' fanbase.

On the roster front, the Broncos have addressed an injury crisis at the center position. After Michael Deiter was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending quad injury, the team signed veteran center Lecitus Smith. Smith, a former sixth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals, joins the roster to provide depth alongside Luke Wattenberg and Alex Forsyth, both of whom have been sidelined with injuries.
