Denver Broncos face injury updates and NFL fines

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton provided updates regarding player injuries and league disciplinary actions following the team's Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Payton stated that cornerback Pat Surtain II and wide receiver Pat Bryant are not expected to be placed on injured reserve. While both players left the game with ankle injuries, the injuries are currently considered short-term rather than season-ending. Both players will likely miss upcoming matchups against the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks.

Additionally, the NFL fined Broncos left guard Ben Powers $17,911 for a blindside block during the first quarter of the game against San Francisco. Powers intends to appeal the fine. Under revised league guidelines, this infraction serves as a strike; two additional infractions of this nature could result in a one-game suspension.
