Denver Broncos offense faces scrutiny under Sean Payton

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is facing scrutiny regarding the team's offensive performance. Despite acquiring wide receiver Jaylen Waddle through significant draft capital, the offense has struggled with efficiency. Analysts have noted that quarterback Bo Nix has functioned as an adequate game manager but remains one of the least threatening downfield passers in the league, with low air yards per completion metrics.

However, Payton and wide receiver Courtland Sutton have expressed optimism regarding the offensive potential. Following Waddle's performance in Week 2, Payton indicated that the team has more specialized plays prepared for him, with Sutton describing Waddle's recent success as ‘only the tip of the iceberg’ for the upcoming season.
