Denver Broncos release running back Jaleel McLaughlin

The Denver Broncos have released veteran running back Jaleel McLaughlin. McLaughlin, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2023, was previously a preferred player of head coach Sean Payton.

During his tenure with the Broncos, McLaughlin recorded 1,093 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 226 carries, along with 263 receiving yards and four touchdowns. His departure comes as the team's running back room has become more crowded with the addition of players such as J. K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and Jonah Coleman.

Following McLaughlin's release, the Broncos' backfield is expected to feature Dobbins, Harvey, Coleman, and Tyler Badie. Badie is noted for his value as a pass protector, punt protector, and kickoff returner.
