Denver Broncos training camp sees player fights and injury returns
The Denver Broncos' training camp has seen significant activity, marked by both physical altercations and key player returns. During a highly intense Day 13 practice, multiple skirmishes broke out. A major confrontation involved quarterback Bo Nix and edge rusher Nik Bonitto after Nix was knocked down during a drill. The melee, which also included an interception by Alex Singleton, resulted in reserve offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton leaving the field with facial injuries. Earlier in the session, rookie tight end Justin Joly was involved in a defensive skirmish.
On a positive note for the roster, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle returned to practice on Day 12 after being sidelined for nearly two weeks with muscle tightness. Head coach Sean Payton indicated the team is being cautious with his injury, but Waddle participated in team drills without appearing limited. Additionally, the Broncos saw the return of starting center Luke Wattenberg and Alex Forsyth to practice.
Former Broncos quarterback Ben DiNucci observed the camp, noting that the team is displaying confidence and that the offense, led by Nix and a deep wide receiver room, appears to be evolving under new offensive coordinator Davis Webb.
