Denver International Airport launches Express Pay parking system

Denver International Airport (DEN) has introduced Express Pay, a digital parking system designed to reduce congestion and streamline the experience for travelers. The system utilizes license plate recognition technology to allow enrolled drivers to enter and exit parking facilities without stopping at gates to pull tickets or pay manually.

To use the service, drivers must register their vehicles through the ParkWhiz or ParkMobile applications. Once enrolled, the system automatically identifies the vehicle upon arrival and departure, processing payments electronically. Users can choose between a one-time payment or an autopay option for future visits. After exiting the facility, a receipt is sent to the user via text message.

The new technology is available across the airport’s garage, economy, and shuttle parking lots. While the system aims to save time and reduce exit lane congestion, officials note that it does not eliminate parking costs or guarantee a lack of congestion during peak travel periods.
