Denver Summit draws 2-2 with Houston Dash as Janine Sonis scores and assists

Janine Sonis contributed both a goal and an assist for the Denver Summit in their 2-2 draw against the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League. She delivered a precise corner to Yazmeen Ryan, who opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Houston equalised three minutes later when Kat Rader slipped a shot past Summit goalkeeper Abby Smith.

Just before halftime, a penalty was awarded after rookie defender Cate Hardin mistimed a challenge on Summit forward Ally Brazier. Sonis converted the penalty, restoring Denver’s lead. Houston responded in the 48th minute when midfielder Maggie Graham’s cross found Linda Ullmark, who netted her first professional goal to level the match.

The game concluded with each side holding a point, marking a competitive fixture in the NWSL season.
