Denver’s Colfax Marathon Relay Prize Pool Exceeds $1.3 Million
The Denver Colfax Marathon announced that its relay prize pool has surpassed $1.3 million in total awards since the event’s inception, marking a twenty‑year milestone for the race’s community‑giving mission. CEO Andrea Dowdy said, “Giving back to our local community is how we honor our mission and ensure that our impact goes beyond race weekend.”
The relay features four divisions—Open, Corporate, Government, and Public School Teachers—and winning teams allocate their prize money to local charity partners or schools. Over the years the program has contributed more than $10 million to Denver charities. The 2026 race weekend attracted close to 28,000 participants, making it the largest running event in Denver’s history, and registration for the 2027 edition opened in August.
