Denza announces new Z9 GT configuration and D9 hybrid updates
Denza, the premium brand under BYD, is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a more accessible configuration of the Z9 GT. Scheduled for release on September 9 in China, this new version will retain the high-performance three-motor setup delivering 850 kW (approximately 1,156 cv) and 1,210 Nm of torque, but will feature a more streamlined equipment list to lower the price point. Market estimates suggest a price between 329,800 and 339,800 yuan.
Additionally, patent filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reveal updates for the Denza D9 minivan. The vehicle will integrate the fifth-generation DM-i plug-in hybrid system, designed for improved fuel efficiency. While the exterior and interior designs remain unchanged, the new system utilizes updated batteries from FinDreams. The 40kWh battery option is expected to provide an electric range of 155km, marking a 10km increase over previous iterations.
