Automakers advance electric vehicle performance and luxury features

The automotive industry is seeing significant developments in electric vehicle (EV) performance and luxury segments. Peugeot has introduced the E-208 GTi, a high-performance electric compact featuring a 281 CV motor and a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 5.5 seconds. The Peugeot 208 range continues to be a market leader, offering gasoline, hybrid, and fully electric options, while DS Automobiles is positioning its DS Nº4 as a luxury competitor to German brands.

In the premium EV sector, BYD’s brand Denza is expanding its European presence with the Denza Z. This flagship model utilizes a three-motor architecture capable of producing up to 1,604 CV and features ultra-fast Flash Charging technology.

Additionally, manufacturers are focusing on replicating internal combustion engine sensations in EVs. Hyundai is implementing systems in its Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N models to simulate gear shifts, while other brands like Ferrari, Toyota, and Honda are exploring virtual transmissions and artificial engine sounds to enhance driver engagement.
