Denza Z electric hypercar unveiled with 1,604 hp at Goodwood

Denza, BYD’s premium marque, revealed the Z hypercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The model uses three electric motors to deliver a combined output of 1,604 hp (1,582 bhp) and 1,240 Nm of torque. Three body styles are offered – a Coupé, a retractable‑roof Spider and a track‑focused Racing version – with 0‑100 km/h times ranging from 2.25 seconds (Coupé) to 1.96 seconds (Racing) and top speeds of 300 km/h to 350 km/h.

The Z is powered by a second‑generation 76 kWh Blade battery and BYD’s “Flash Charging” system, which can raise the state of charge from 10 % to 70 % in five minutes and from 10 % to 97 % in nine minutes (up to 1,500 kW). The car seats four (2+2 layout) and features a digital cockpit with a 12.8‑inch infotainment screen, Google integration and a premium Devialet sound system. UK orders open in the summer, with deliveries planned before the end of 2026; pricing starts at £142,900 for the Coupé, £159,900 for the Spider and £172,900 for the Racing model. A Special Edition targeting over 2,000 hp for a Nürburgring record attempt is also announced.
