BYD expands premium SUV lineup with Denza and Fang Cheng Bao models

BYD is expanding its premium automotive footprint through its Denza and Fang Cheng Bao brands, introducing several high-performance SUV models.

The Denza N8, a flagship electric SUV, has received official homologation in China. It features the Blade 2.0 battery with a capacity of up to 130.15 kWh, offering a claimed range of 1,003 km under the Chinese CLTC cycle. However, this range is expected to decrease to approximately 820 km under the more stringent European WLTP standard. The N8 offers various configurations, including a tri-motor all-wheel-drive version producing up to 1,193 hp. It also supports ultra-fast charging, capable of reaching 70% charge in five minutes.

In the hybrid segment, the Denza Bao 5 is entering the Polish market as a premium plug-in hybrid SUV. Built on a frame chassis, it produces 544 hp and offers a combined range of 835 km. It is positioned as a competitive alternative to established models like the Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser.

Additionally, the Fang Cheng Bao brand is launching the Tai 9, a large three-row plug-in hybrid SUV. The Tai 9 is designed for luxury and off-road capability, featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acting as a generator for dual electric motors. It boasts a significant pure electric range of up to 310 km and supports BYD’s Flash Charging technology.
