Denza Z electric hypercar aims to undercut Porsche on price and performance

BYD’s luxury brand, Denza, has unveiled the Denza Z, an electric hypercar designed to compete with premium manufacturers such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW. The vehicle was showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and is expected to reach UK customers by the end of 2026.

The Denza Z features a tri-motor setup on the e3 platform, producing a combined 1,604 horsepower and 1,240 Nm of torque. It is available in three variants: Coupe, Spider, and Racing. The flagship Racing variant, equipped with semi-slick tires, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.96 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h. In comparison, the Porsche 911 Turbo S delivers 701 hp and reaches 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

In the UK, the Denza Z will start at £142,900, which is significantly lower than the price of a Porsche 911 Turbo S. The car utilizes a 76 kWh Blade Battery with 800-volt architecture, supporting Flash Charging that can charge the battery from 10 to 70 percent in five minutes. Technical features include a steer-by-wire system and the Disus-M magnetorheological intelligent suspension system.
