Denza Z supercar unveiled with 1,600 hp, UK prices from £143k
Chinese automaker BYD's premium brand Denza launched its Z electric supercar at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The model is offered in three variants – Coupe, Spider and Racing – all built on a triple‑motor e³ platform that delivers roughly 1,600 hp (1,604 PS) and 1,240 Nm of torque. Acceleration ranges from 0‑62 mph in 2.25 seconds (Coupe) to 1.96 seconds (Racing), with top speeds of 186 mph to 217 mph. UK pricing was disclosed at £142,900 for the Coupe, £159,900 for the Spider and £172,900 for the Racing version, with deliveries expected before the end of 2026.
Alongside the Z, Denza announced the start of its European distribution network. In Switzerland the brand named its first official trade partners and will begin sales of the Z9GT shooting‑brake and the D9 premium van by late summer 2026. The Z9GT, slated for the Thai market in August 2026, features three electric motors, 1,156 hp and a flash‑charging system that fills the 122 kWh battery from 10‑97 % in about nine minutes. The rollout highlights Denza’s push into premium electric performance cars across Europe and Asia.
