Denza Z electric supercar unveiled at Goodwood with 1,600 hp and 9‑minute flash charging

BYD’s premium brand Denza introduced the Z electric supercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. The launch, attended by executive vice‑president Stella Li and former F1 champion Jenson Button, revealed three production variants – Coupe, Spider and Racing – and a Special Edition aimed at Nürburgring record attempts.

All three models share a three‑motor layout that delivers 1,582 horsepower (1,604 PS) and 1,240 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0‑62 mph (0‑100 km/h) in under two seconds and reaching a top speed of up to 350 km/h. The 76 kWh Blade Battery can be recharged from 10 % to 97 % in just nine minutes using BYD’s 1,500 kW Flash Charging system. Prices start at £142,900 in the UK and 680,000 RMB in China, and BYD reported more than 1,000 global pre‑orders within five days of launch. The Z also features carbon‑fiber bodywork, active aerodynamics delivering over 1,000 kg of downforce, and a magnetorheological DiSus‑M suspension.
