Deolane Bezerra remains detained amid money laundering investigation

Influencer Buzeira has publicly called for the release of lawyer Deolane Bezerra, who has been detained since May while awaiting trial. Bezerra is under investigation in ‘Operação Vérnix,’ a probe conducted by the São Paulo Public Ministry and the Civil Police regarding suspected money laundering.

Investigators allege that Bezerra played a key role in providing a veneer of legality for illicit funds belonging to the criminal faction PCC. The investigation suggests her public profile, business activities, and asset movements were used to disguise the criminal origins of the money.

Buzeira expressed his support on social media, stating that while the justice system must determine guilt or innocence, individuals should have the right to respond to legal processes while free. He also extended his plea for liberty to singer Negão Original.
