Deolane Bezerra stays in preventive detention; sister protests ruling, police say seized jewelry were fakes

The São Paulo Court of Justice rejected a habeas corpus request on June 30, 2026, keeping influencer and lawyer Deolane Bezerra in preventive detention at the Tupi Paulista penitentiary. She was arrested on May 21, 2026 during Operation Vérnix, an investigation into an alleged money‑laundering scheme linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The São Paulo chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB‑SP) has suspended her professional registration.

Deolane’s sister, Dayanne Bezerra, criticized the decision on Instagram, arguing that participation in the 2022 reality show "A Fazenda" was a voluntary job and should not be compared to an ongoing criminal investigation. She said, “Participar de um reality é escolha, um trabalho por dinheiro e visibilidade.”

Police delegate Maria Corsato, speaking on a podcast, said that most luxury watches and jewelry seized from Deolane’s home in 2022 were counterfeit, noting that only one Bulgari piece was identified as genuine.
