Deolane Bezerra stays in special custody despite OAB-SP suspension

A police operation in 2022 seized luxury items allegedly owned by influencer Deolane Bezerra, including a Land Rover Discovery, a Porsche, Rolex watches and other jewellery, which police said were counterfeit. The investigation linked her to alleged money‑laundering and organized‑crime activities associated with the PCC.

The São Paulo Bar Association (OAB‑SP) has suspended Deolane’s right to practice law, but officials say the suspension does not affect the judge’s order keeping her in a special detention cell. OAB‑SP filed a habeas‑corpus petition on her behalf, which was denied by a state court on June 11. Legal analysts note the custodial decision is based on the criminal accusations, not on her professional status.
