Deolane Bezerra writes letter to mother after five months in detention

Lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerra has sent a new letter to her mother, Solange, marking nearly five months of detention. In the message, Bezerra expressed her longing to return home to care for her children and family members.

Bezerra maintained her stance of innocence, stating, “My innocence will be proven, no matter how much time it takes.” She also expressed belief that there is a “great purpose” behind her current situation.

Prior reports indicate Bezerra has been detained since May 21 following an operation involving allegations of money laundering for a criminal faction. She has also previously reported receiving death threats and experiencing religious intolerance while held at the Tupi Paulista Women's Penitentiary.
