Deolane Bezerra's habeas corpus request denied by São Paulo prosecutor

The São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) submitted a report rejecting the habeas corpus petition filed by lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerra. The report states that Bezerra voluntarily chose to share a cell at the Tupi Paulista Women's Prison after reporting panic syndrome, despite the availability of an individual cell. Inspectors found no health, sanitation or security violations in the facility.

Bezerra’s defense seeks her transfer to a State-Major prison cell or home detention, a request backed by the São Paulo Bar Association. She was indicted at the end of June on money‑laundering and organized‑crime charges linked to the PCC syndicate, with investigators tracing illicit payments exceeding R$ 27 million through the transport company Lado a Lado.

The prosecutor asked the court to deny the habeas corpus, arguing that the jail conditions meet legal standards and that Bezerra’s continued detention is justified.
