Deon Fourie recalled to Springboks for All Blacks series

Deon Fourie has been recalled to the Springbok squad for the upcoming four-match series against the All Blacks. The 39-year-old veteran’s selection follows a strong performance for the Stormers in their recent match against New Zealand in Cape Town, where he scored a try and recorded two turnovers despite the team's loss.

Fourie’s return comes after a period of significant injury challenges, including a ruptured ACL and various ankle and bicep issues that sidelined him for much of the past two years. His ability to play both hooker and loose forward is considered a valuable asset for coach Rassie Erasmus.

Fourie previously appeared in the 2023 Rugby World Cup final. He is expected to join the squad in Johannesburg to prepare for the series scheduled to begin on August 22.
