Department of Youth Development holds rescheduled recruitment exam

The Department of Youth Development held a rescheduled recruitment exam for the position of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer on Friday, October 16. The exam, which took place from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, follows a previous cancellation due to allegations of question paper leaks on social media.

To ensure a fair process, the Minister of State for Youth and Sports, Md. Aminul Haque, implemented strict security measures. These included monitoring the preparation and printing of question papers at the Secretariat and seizing digital devices from involved staff. Law enforcement officers were also stationed at relevant ministry offices to prevent further leaks.

A five-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the initial leak. The committee is tasked with submitting a report within three working days, after which disciplinary action will be taken against those found responsible. The rescheduling follows significant protests from approximately 300,000 candidates who faced travel and accommodation expenses after the initial exam was halted just as OMR sheets were being distributed.
