Depok authorities demolish 350 illegal structures at Cisalak Market

Authorities in Depok have demolished 350 illegal structures at the Cisalak Market to clear social and public utility land. The enforcement action followed community complaints regarding blocked road access and obstructed drainage systems.

Satpol PP Depok officials stated that the vendors were provided with three warning letters and a one-week grace period to dismantle the structures independently before the forced demolition. The affected area covers approximately 5,000 square meters. While the land was previously subject to ownership disputes, the Depok City Government was declared the legal owner in 2017.

To mitigate the impact on livelihoods, the city government has offered the displaced traders space within the Cisalak Market UPT building, including access to stalls, shops, and elevators.
