Deportes Tolima replaces Sebastián Oliveros with Luis Fernando Suárez

Deportes Tolima has officially announced the departure of head coach Sebastián Oliveros. The decision follows a period of inconsistent results, including a four-match winless streak in the Liga BetPlay II.

Oliveros, who took over the position on June 30, 2026, following the exit of Lucas González, leaves with a record of six wins, three draws, and six losses in 15 matches, representing a 46 percent success rate. His tenure included participation in the Copa Libertadores and Copa BetPlay, though the club suffered eliminations in both competitions.

The dismissal occurred shortly after a 2-2 draw against Fortaleza, a match in which Tolima surrendered a lead in stoppage time. Despite Oliveros publicly stating his intention to remain in his role just hours before the announcement, the club moved forward with a change in leadership, appointing experienced strategist Luis Fernando Suárez as the new head coach.
