Deportivo Alavés seeks to renew Antonio Blanco's contract

Deportivo Alavés has initiated discussions to renew the contract of midfielder Antonio Blanco. The club aims to secure the long-term continuity of the Córdoba-born player, who has become a central figure and captain for the Vitoria-based team.

Blanco, whose current contract expires on June 30, has been instrumental in Alavés' strong start to the season. The club reportedly proposed a four-year extension to prevent his departure, having already rejected summer offers from other clubs, including a proposal from Italy. While the club views his retention as a priority for manager Quique Sánchez Flores, Blanco has stated he prefers to focus on competition and will discuss his future when the time is appropriate.
