Deportivo de A Coruña breaks transfer record with €21.5 million summer spend

Deportivo de A Coruña has become the biggest spender in the Spanish top‑flight market this summer, committing €21.5 million to new signings. The total surpasses any investment made by the club since the early 2000s Champions era and includes arrivals such as former Olympique de Marseille striker Pierre‑Emerick Aubameyang, Danish forward Asp Jensen from Bayern Munich, and several young prospects from the Netherlands, Poland and Italy.

The club’s board continues to hunt for further talent, notably Spanish winger Borja Sainz, who is under contract with FC Porto until 2030 and valued at around €20 million. Deportivo officials say a deal for Sainz would be extremely difficult given the player’s high price tag and contractual constraints, but the club remains monitoring the market for a possible solution.
