Deportivo de La Coruña has returned to LaLiga with a significant financial strategy, spending approximately 26 million euros on new transfers to secure its position in the top flight. This investment makes the club the fourth-highest spender in the division, trailing only the three major financial powers in Spain. Key acquisitions include goalkeeper Leo Román via a 9 million euro release clause, veteran forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and prospect Asp Jensen.

However, the club's aggressive spending and financial restructuring have caused tension among minority shareholders. The investment is driven by Abanca and its president, Juan Carlos Escotet, who controls nearly all of the club's capital. To stabilize the club following years of crisis, Abanca converted debt into shares and conducted capital increases, a process that has progressively diluted the holdings of smaller shareholders. While the goal of returning to the elite is shared, some investors are concerned about the high volume of resources required to maintain this level of competition.
