Villarreal manager Íñigo Pérez reacts to Real Madrid defeat

Villarreal manager Íñigo Pérez expressed frustration following a narrow 1-0 defeat against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. Despite the loss, Pérez noted that his team played a highly competitive match and praised the tactical decision to use Foyth as a defensive pivot to solidify the midfield against Madrid.

Pérez remarked that if league standings were determined by statistics rather than points, Villarreal would currently rank among the top three. He also addressed the high tension and atmosphere within the stadium during the final minutes of the match, suggesting that authorities should manage such intensity to prevent escalation.

Looking ahead, the manager emphasized the importance of the upcoming international break for team analysis and integration of youth academy players into the first team.
